Faces of the Future
Planning for the future requires more than looking forward. In addition to forward, an organization needs to look backward, outward, and inward. Looking forward represents planning since planning has to do with purpose and goals. Looking backward represents forecasting since forecasts are based on data from the past. Looking outward represents imaging since imaging requires innovation and imagination. Looking inward represents assessment since assessment requires assimilation and correction. Faces of the Future represents a strategic approach to planning by pursing four intentional steps in the planning process. Planning becomes multi-directional and dynamic as it follows this four-step process.
