For the Blandin Foundation, Don led a planning process on economic development involving leaders from an Upper Midwest region suffering economic decline. The effort resulted in a public awareness program for communities, an innovation and economic development center, an office sector marketing program, a tourist train development project, and a regional venture capital fund.
