Conceptual Thinking

Conceptual-Thinking

People vary greatly as to their method of thinking.  Some are linear thinkers whose thought processes are logical and orderly.  Others are intuitive thinkers whose ideas flow in a random fashion.  Still others are conceptual thinkers who are able to reach beyond normal boundaries and consider ideas from a broader perspective.  The latter are able to perceive not only the premises behind certain thoughts, but to anticipate consequences of such thoughts.  A conceptual thinker is able to perceive patterns and connections that others cannot see.  Some have referred to this ability as “thinking outside the box” or “seeing the big picture”.  While the ability to think conceptually may be a natural advantage, it is also something that can be learned.
